Let your customers bring their friends

Most new customers find a dog school because a friend recommended it. With the referral program in doggso, you can reward these recommendations, and it all runs automatically.

How it works:

  1. Every customer can create a personal referral code on their profile, for example K7M3P, and share it with friends.
  2. A friend who is new to your school enters the code when enrolling in a course.
  3. The friend can get a discount straight away, or store credit when the course starts.
  4. The customer who shared the code gets a discount code or store credit the morning after the course starts, together with an email thanking them.

You decide the rewards. For example:

  • “Bring a friend: you get €20, your friend gets 10 % off”: the referrer gets €20 store credit, the new customer gets a 10 % discount on their first course.
  • “Thank-you for the referrer only”: the referrer gets a 15 % discount code for their next course, and the new customer pays the normal price.

The program has built-in rules against misuse:

  • Only new or returning customers can use a code: someone who hasn’t enrolled during the last 6, 9 or 12 months (you choose).
  • A customer can’t use their own code, and two customers can’t keep swapping codes back and forth.
  • Rewards are given only for paid enrollments, after the course has started.
  • You choose which course categories accept referral codes, so your most popular courses can stay out.

To get started:

  1. In the school settings, on the Courses tab, turn on Referral program enabled and choose the rewards.
  2. In each course category that should be included, set Courses accept referral codes to Yes.
  3. Tell your customers about it, for example in your next newsletter.

You can follow how it’s going in the Referral bonus overview report: who has shared their code, how many times it has been used and which rewards have been given out.
